Our Intermediate Jazz program marks the first vocational level in jazz dance, offering students a challenging and rewarding experience as they advance their skills. These classes are designed to cultivate an exceptional level of physical control, introduce new concepts, and develop a unique sense of performance and style.

60-minute class, once a week
$145 per term.

What to Expect in Our Classes
At the intermediate level, students engage in rigorous training to achieve excellent physical control and precision. The curriculum incorporates advanced techniques, challenging choreography, and complex combinations to enhance strength, flexibility, and coordination.

Students are introduced to improvisation and interpretation, encouraging them to explore their creativity and develop their individual style. This approach fosters a deeper understanding of movement and expression, allowing dancers to perform with confidence and authenticity.

Uniform & Hair Requirements
Our intermediate jazz students are required to wear the following:
- Teal leotard
- Black fitted shorts or jazz pants. Must wear shorts for exam.
- Tan jazz shoes for performances, bare feet for exam work
Hair tied back in a neat braid or bun, no loose hair on face.

Structure of the Dance Year
Our dance year is thoughtfully organized to provide a comprehensive experience for our students, featuring key events and milestones:
- Annual Production: Held in Term 2 (June), our annual production is a highlight of the year, offering students the opportunity to showcase their talents and creativity on stage.
- Exams: Held in Term 4 (December) Students in Intermediate Jazz are expected to sit vocational jazz exams, marking their progress and achievements in jazz dance. Students must be 14 years old to sit this exam.

Time Investment and Parental Support
To ensure our dancers feel confident and prepared for performances and exams, we encourage parental support in practicing at home. We provide video resources to assist parents in helping their children review and perfect their dance techniques.
