What to Expect in Our Classes

Our jazz classes are structured to offer a vibrant mix of creative movement and foundational jazz techniques. This ensures that students enjoy a fulfilling dance experience while developing the skills and discipline necessary for future advancement. Through engaging activities, students learn to express themselves through dance, while honing their sense of rhythm and musicality.

We incorporate imaginative themes and energetic routines to captivate our young dancers, making each class an exciting adventure. From lively music to dynamic dance combinations, our program is designed to keep students motivated and enthusiastic about their dance journey.

Personalised Attention and Small Class Sizes

Our Junior Jazz classes are kept small to ensure each child receives personalised attention and support. This approach helps children feel comfortable, build confidence, and develop their dance skills in a nurturing environment.

Uniform & Hair Requirements

Our jazz students are required to wear the following:

- Spearmint camisole leotard
- Pink fitted shorts
Bare feet, no shoes required at this level

Hair tied back in a neat ponytail or bun, with no loose hair on face.

Structure of the Dance Year

Our dance year is structured to provide a well-rounded experience for our students, with key events and milestones to look forward to:

- Annual Production: Held in Term 2 (June), our annual production is a highlight of the year, giving students the opportunity to showcase their skills and creativity on stage.
- Exams: Students in the Preparatory and Primary levels have the option to sit exams, marking their progress and achievements in jazz dance. The preparatory exam is available for students aged 5 and up, while the primary exam is for students aged 6 and up.

Time Investment and Parental Support

For our young dancers to feel confident and prepared for performances and exams, we encourage parental support in practicing at home. To facilitate home practice, we provide video resources that parents can use to help their children review and perfect their dance techniques.
